Eqos is finalist for best European eCommerce application in Retail Solutions 2001 Awards

Eqos has been selected as a finalist for the top b2b prize in the Deloitte & Touche European Retail Solutions of the Year Award 2001 with the submission of its work with Woolworths. The accolade further enhances Eqos' position as the company which delivers the world's most advanced and flexible solutions for collaborative planning and event management over the Internet.
In the run-up to Christmas, Woolworths adopted Eqos' ground-breaking technology to innovatively drive sales of products, during the biggest, and most unpredictable, event in the retail calendar. Working with suppliers Kraft and Nestle, the Eqos collaborative planning and event management solution enabled both parties to jointly plan more effectively and have a common view of actual and forecasted sales and stock. This in turn, is expected to dramatically improve on-shelf availability, reduce wastage on promoted items, and increase customer satisfaction.
According to Mike Quinn, Eqos' president, "the supply chain management areas of planning and forecasting, along with execution or event management are currently the most relevant to supply chain collaboration. These are the external areas where the highest return on investment can be achieved and a fine example is Woolworths as demonstrated by this prestigious acknowledgement and a recently released independent ROI study from IDC Research."
Confirmation of expected benefits and costs of Woolworths installing the Eqos supply chain collaboration system comes from IDC Research which carried out an independent ROI study. Overall ROI is projected to be 600% in the first three years with a payback period of 2 months; increased on-shelf availability expected to be 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% in the first three years and reduced stock levels saving $1.3M in the first three years; process time savings and improvements are expected to generate $315K in the first three years.
Other major awards won by Eqos' are the VICS 2000 Achievement Award for the best in retailer/supplier relationship, the Computer Weekly E-Business Excellence Award for supply chain management, the Microsoft European RAD awards for both supply chain management and the value chain initiative, and at the UK 2000 Technology Awards Eqos were runners up for the PricewaterhouseCoopers 'Hottest Prospect Award' and SBN 'Innovator of the Year'.
