Eqos is working with Royal & SunAlliance to streamline Supplier Management

31st August 2005

Supplier management expert Eqos is working with Royal & SunAlliance to develop a new automated system for claims involving suppliers to cut the handling costs and speed the resolution of customer claims. This ground breaking solution means Royal & SunAlliance and its suppliers will work with one streamlined system that shows the status of all claims in near real-time, thereby enabling it to offer a better service to customers.

The new system is Internet-based and combines a central repository for supplier and claim information with a sophisticated workflow engine to automate the interaction of all parties involved in the claims handling process. Alerts prompt both the suppliers and the insurer's loss adjusters when phases of work become due, to progress the claim as quickly as possible. The automation of many of the steps in the process also reduces the potential for data input errors which will improve the accuracy of information. It also enables complete visibility of suppliers' performance, allowing greater measurement and management throughout the supply chain process.

"Our new system has updated our process for resolving insurance claims; we believe it will set the benchmark for the industry by delivering a far better service to customers, at a lower cost," comments Rod Kitchen, UK Claims Director, Royal & SunAlliance.

Royal & SunAlliance will be using the Eqos system to handle both commercial and household claims. The initial system went live at the beginning of July, just 18 weeks from the start of the project with contents claims going live in October.

"Effective supplier management is increasingly being seen as a competitive differential for businesses across many industries. We are delighted to have been chosen by Royal & SunAlliance who are leading this change in the insurance market," says Mike Quinn, CEO, Eqos.

Eqos supplier management solutions are used by key blue chip customers worldwide including UK retailers Debenhams, Focus DIY, Sainsbury's, Virgin Retail and Wickes Buildings Supplies.
