Eqos' latest platform release, Release 7, provides advanced new features for Sourcing & Supplier Management applications
4th January 2006
Eqos, experts in Sourcing and Supplier Management solutions, announces the launch of its new platform release, Release 7. Eqos provides a complete range of sophisticated business solutions based on this core technology, the Eqos platform, to address the global sourcing, product management and supplier performance requirements of the Eqos customer.
Release 7 is primarily an "architectural" release with three principal areas of advanced development:
- A technology move to Microsoft.NET providing better performance. This new release is implemented in Microsoft.NET technologies and supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Solution developers can use Microsoft.NET technologies to extend the core capabilities of the Eqos solution.
- Further performance enhancements through a more flexible data schema. This new approach addresses the needs of customers who are embedding collaborative solutions more deeply into their business and increasing the traffic through them. It provides easier navigation and customization of data and reports. Release 7 has reduced demands on supporting hardware by two-thirds, allowing more data and concurrent users to be managed than ever before. Eqos has tripled its platform scalability.
- Enhancements that further simplify the collaborative application developer's experience, making them even more productive. These include a richer web interface, improved password management and quicker data entry. At a technical level, customers will now be able to define, customize and manage their web pages and web interface configuration, thereby simplifying the configuration, maintenance and expansion of application web sites. Improved, more flexible installation and configuration options allow the customer to adapt the application to meet their changing requirements as circumstances dictate.
The onward development of Eqos' core technology, the Eqos platform, follows consultation with customers, partners, industry and technology experts. They provide input to the Eqos product roadmap which is continuously being developed to address their current and future needs within the areas of sourcing and supplier management. This latest release is available to customer and partners from 14th December, 2005.
