Best Buy Director joins Supplier Management Experts Eqos

25th July 2005

Jeremy Sacker, former director of global sourcing operations for US electronics chain Best Buy, has joined supplier management experts Eqos as Vice President for North America, to strengthen Eqos' presence in the region and further promote its leadership in the provision of global sourcing solutions.

Under Sacker's direction, Best Buy's private label business grew from a handful of products to over 300 SKUs in two years. Key to its success was the IT infrastructure centred on the web-based portal created by Eqos, which enabled the Best Buy team in the US to communicate efficiently and clearly with colleagues in its main overseas buying office in Shanghai, China.

"Organisations who source globally will recognise that Eqos' capabilities can underpin their expansion and minimise the risk factor," comments Sacker. "I am extremely impressed with the flexibility of the Eqos system which can be deployed across a broad range of supplier management processes, including global and local sourcing, order and logistics management, promotional event management and supplier performance."

"Eqos solutions are definitely best in class and from my experience of US retailers I know that there are many who could benefit from adopting this leading edge technology."

In its home market, the UK, Eqos's clients include supermarket giant Sainsbury's, department store group Debenhams, DIY retailer Wickes, entertainment retailer Virgin and insurance specialists Royal & SunAlliance. Additionally, Eqos is recommended by analysts such as AMR Research and Forrester.
